meissnjr
These pearl-like orbs are forming on my driftwood, does anybody know what they are? Snail eggs??? I boiled the wood and soaked it for 24 hours before putting it in the aquarium. They started forming about a week after going in.
bryanisag
Well most of that type of wood grows white fungus on it for the first month or so underwater. I'm guessing that your fungus just looks a bit different then most. And it seems like there are bubbles forming in there too. Should be gone in a month or so and I would not treat it or anything. Just let it pass
Guppysnail
Spider wood when new developed biofilm. Nothing to worry over. It will probably get worse before better but eventually goes away. Shrimp and snails love it. You can wipe it off
AllFishNoBrakes
Agreed with what @Guppysnail said. I love Spider Wood and have it in all my tanks. All of them, except one, eventually stops. I have one pesky piece that continues to fungus years later, but it’s good food for the shrimp and nerites in the tank, and if it gets out of control I either siphon some off or take the piece out of the tank and to the sink and wipe it away.
