FLFishChik
I’m starting to shop for equipment for my 75g tank and I need some recommendations for reliable heaters! what’s your preferred heater?
face
There’s no such thing as a reliable heater some work for years some break in months but they all fail eventually a controller can help this, but eventually they will fail imo you should choose a heater based off the features it has when its working not off reliability because no matter what there not reliable

macdaddy36
Unfortunately they don't make co-op heaters anymore. I have a co-op heater and a nicrew heater. The Nicrew heaters are cheap, sleek, adjustable and accurate, and in my experience reliable. They have 50w, 100w, 200w, and 300w. I agree with @face that all heaters should be treated with caution because eventually they all will fail. Since the nicrews are cheap, you could have space in you budget for a controller :).
Kurt Brutting
I use Eheim heaters with Inkbird temperature controller on every heater I run. I strongly recommend the temperature controller on any heater it’s an extra layer of protection. You can get the ink bird temp controller with Wi-Fi and program everything from your phone.
T. Payne
I agree with @Kurt Brutting, always use an inkbird. I have them running on all my higher end pleco aquariums.
