svachon9
New tank, new sword plant in pot. I saw in a Coop video where Corey said to split the pot, add a root tab and plant in the pot. I've also seen where he took the plant out of the pot. So which would you recommend and if I choose the leave in pot, how long before take it out and replant in substrate? Macready
I did this recently. I left it in the pot for about a month. Then I planted it in the substrate with root tabs. It’s currently growing new leaves and eating the old leaves that started out of water. I haven’t figured out how often or how many root tabs to use yet. I understand they like lots of root tabs. nabokovfan87
I would plant it and tab around it.
Shrimp Doggy Dogg
I like to leave my plants in pots for a while so I can move them around for a week or so until I'm ready to commit to a final planting location. I've buried swords in pot and bare root many times and I see no difference, personally. I would definitely use a root tab if you're leaving in the pot. I would definitely use root tabs if you're taking the plant out of the pot and your soil is inert.
