John Collins
I have a dwarf aquarium lily that is doing great. It's grown tremendously and filled out very nicely. It's so happy it's sending up a lily pad. But I don't want a lily pad. Any harm in just cutting that back?
JoeQ
There shouldn't be a problem cutting lily pads. The word is that once you allow pads to reach the surface they will not grow submerged leaves. This has been my experience as well with both my dwarf & tiger lilys.. Part of me wants to trim lilys to see if this results in more submerged growth, the other part of me likes the lilys!
Mmiller2001
You want to remove the runners going for the surface if you want to keep the plant more compact. 1
