Munkyaquatix
Decide to add gravel and live plants to my fry tank. I put in one Amazon sword and another plant I can’t identify I got it from the big box down the street hopefully someone on here knows what it is lol. But going to add 3 vallisneria and switch the sponge filter that I ordered from aquarium co-op that will be here tomorrow. Candi
Looks like java fern, and you may want to pull that rhizome up out of the substrate. Rhizomes don't like to be planted. The roots can stay in the substrate, but prefer to be attached to rock, wood or decor. The sword looks to be planted a bit too deep, the crown is covered, would be happier if pulled up a bit. Also, swords are heavy root feeders and require ample root tabs. 1
Munkyaquatix
@CandiThank you I appreciate the advice I did use easy root tabs for the sword but I will pull it up a bit. On the other plant though I didn’t notice a rhizome the bottom of the stemy part was folded in a U shape and stuffed in a piece of porcelain but I’ll pull that up also and replace in the porcelain
