Tombeaux
Hello, I am curious if this will work, and if not no worries, but I wanted to see if folks had any experience keeping only male platies before? I was thinking of getting 6 or so for my 20 gallon... I've done male only guppies and endlers without issue, so was wondering if this works with the next size up in livebearer. GoofyGarra
I would not recommend this. I have experienced platy male sparring and fighting even with excessive females in the tank, so the aggression would probably be worse with just males. TMartins
I’ve kept Platies for years and would also highly not recommend only males. I’ve also experienced aggression between female Platies. Having a lot of plants and sight blocks and a bigger group of Platies tends to cut down with the aggression.
Ruud
I have had 2 male swordfish in a 20G and it didn't work.... no experience with Platys but would assume behavior is quite similar between these two.
