Help sexing angelfish

Hello hello!

I am trying to work out the genders of our two angels. I have googled but still can’t work it out! 🤷‍♀️

We have had these since May so they are possibly 6-7 months old. One is missing a ventral fin and is a little aggressive to his angel but doesn’t bother any of our other community fish.IMG_0583.jpeg.51ddf84391d43362641cfa99ec2ada51.jpeg

Regards,

Maree

ps. not sure how to fix the upside down photo!

Agree with others on the sexing.  No way to be certain until you can see the breeding tube.

You can prevent pics from posting upside down by doing almost any kind of edit to the pic.  I usually crop my pics, sometimes only a trace if it doesn’t “need” cropped but I do it because that prevents whatever it is in the forum software from flipping them.  I often liked the cropped pics better anyway.  You can crop the pic on your phone/computer, then edit your post, delete the first pic, then attach the cropped version, and it will stay upright.

Thank you so much for your help!

I had this same question. I watched this helpful video:

I only have 2 angels. One is bigger than the other but they’re both the same age. The larger one is also a bit aggressive towards the smaller one.  They both have the pointy tube but having only 2 and nothing else to compare them to, I’m still not sure of the gender although I’m guessing they’re both male. I have a friend who wants to rehome one of her angelfish but I’m now thinking that could create a problem - especially if her angel is a female
