Pleco breeding

Hello all. I have a breeding rack I just setup. Im still working on getting the right tank sizes. I will be doing 6 10 gallons with one pair of ancistrus plecos in each. They will all be different kinds. What would be the best way for grow outs. I thought about 2 tanks 2(29g) or 2(40g) and just mix the fry. Any others ideas? I would like to have fry to their own tank I just don’t think that will be possible.

Perhaps breeder nets or boxes in the back of each tank for initial first few fry days then if you decide to do a dedicated grow out, for plecos the depth is less important then the length and width in most cases. 29 or 40 will def work though whichever your preference, if you go with the 40’s  you may be able to divide them as well to keep things organized if you so chose

My 55 gallon grow out tank is divided with coarse foam:61E2D680-4240-47B6-99FA-D766C2EDF553.jpeg.fd81be83010496c13c7f7800a7598b46.jpeg

The foam I got on Amazon. Has worked well for me and prevents fry from creeping through to the other side. It gets annoying trying to keep the foam perfectly vertical (it came in a roll and has some memory because of that) but overall I recommend it

I use a 40 gallon breeder for my adult breeding tanks and separate 40 breeder as my growout.

If the fry are very small, I will keep them in a Ziss breeder box hanging on the side of the adult tank until I feel they are large enough to mix in with the other fry. If the fry are actually still eggs, I will hatch them in a Ziss egg tumbler hanging on the adult tank and then transfer them to a breeder box once they are wigglers.

I would only mix the fry of different species in the growout if they have similar diets.
