J. Holmes
My sweet little pink crypt is STRUGGLING. Had this since December. It started to grow quickly, but hasn’t progressed past this. I give it a root tab once every two weeks. I have CO2 as well. Lights on on for 4 hours in the morning and then another four hours in the afternoon. Any suggestions for how to help it grow?
ccurtis
Sometimes crypts melt back then take a while to get going again. Just keep feeding it and give it time.

I am… I have several high light plants, so I have the light up high for them. CO2 is relatively new (since Nov) so perhaps that early algae spike was due to that 🤷🏻♀️. I still deal with some green spot algae a little that I clean up weekly.
knee
Have you tried running it without a siesta period? Since you’re already injecting co2 then I don’t see a need for it tbh Edited March 21 by knee

I had it without a siesta EARLY on and algae was CRAZY. So added the break then to fix that.

You can try running without a siesta period. If you’re worried about algae I’d lower the brightness a bit or raise my light a few inches. I’m currently growing crypt flamingo from tissue culture in one of my tanks without co2 and I only give it medium light. The crypt is growing very very slowly but still showing improvement. Darax
Root tabs for root feeders? (never mind don't always see every word before 9am) Edited March 21 by Darax Reread op
John Henry
Hard to be sure from one photo but it looks maybe to be planted too deep. The stems appear to be coming out of the gravel rather than from the crown of the plant.
JoeQ
Crypts in general like a long photo period but low intensity, I second to skip the siesta. Control algea by keeping pristine water quality and healthy plant growth.

Raise phosphates to stop GSA. A root tab every 2 weeks? Way too much. In the picture you posted, the tank is pretty dirty, that's one source of the algae problems. How much Easy Green are you dosing? And how many gallons is the tank? How are you measuring CO2? Edited March 22 by Mmiller2001
