Seized
Sorry I’ve been off here for a while now since I’ve had a lot going on but does anyone have any ideas of plants that can handle outdoor temps year round in zone 7b? Basically I’m planning on setting up an outdoor stock pond similar to the ones Cory has indoors. It’s going to be a 100 gal stock tank and I plan on having ricefish and maybe some snails. Expectorating_Aubergine
Temperate water lilies can handle that cold. Pretty sure vallisneria can too. Honestly, most pond plants can handle that kind of cold. I know lots of things either go dormant or die off leaving turions/seeds to resprout in the spring. As far as aquarium plants, I would stick to stuff that's native. Obvious tropicals like anubias won't work.
Theplatymaster
you could try some Hornwort, its invasive on some parts of the east coast where the water freezes, and it still is an issue.
JettsPapa
Guppy grass would probably work too. It may stop growing and now look good when it gets cold, but I believe it will come back when the weather gets warmer.
