FyaNyan
Hey everyone! Bought some electric blue platies today. I thought they looked fine in the store, but upon bringing them home, about half of them have a few white specks on their fins. I started treatment for ick—just in case that’s what they’ve got. Other than that, they’re acting bright and cheery. A few questions: What temperature should I keep the tank at? Do fish usually recover from ick or is it often fatal? Thanks guys 🙂
Colu
Higher temperatures speed up the life cycle of ich I wouldn't go above 80 with platys what I would do is treat with ick X and aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt will add back in essential electrolytes @FyaNyan

One question: If I misdiagnosed the symptoms and my fish don’t have ick, will this amount of salt harm the fish?
