Taregreen
Hello fishkeepers, I need some help diagnosing a problem with a Rainbow fish (see photos for clarification). One day I noticed that it had a scratch on his side from roughly his dorsal fin to his mid-section. I originally though he scratched it on a decoration or something. I kept and eye on it for about a week, but it wasn't getting any better, so I put it in a hospital tank where it's been for a couple weeks now. It is currently going through a treatment of ParaCleanse and Maracyn, but it doesn't appear to be getting any better. In fact, I've noticed that one gill is now visibly redder than the other. It is still eating and haven't noticed any other changes with it's behavior. He's still eating well and it doesn't seem to be bother by it. Any ideas what this could be and how to treat it? Thanks for taking a look. Jay
