Is this fin rot or just a tair?

If its fin rot how bad is it?

Looks like a torn fin. Very blurry and very hard to tell. Try to record a video or just keep taking photos as best you can 🙂

Red fish make diagnosis tricky but looks like a tare to me, 

For fin rot what I look for is  the edges looking white or swollen and the viens looking red and you get a red sore area where the flesh is being damaged with good fin on one side and dead white fun on the other.

Tares  heal pretty quick but guppies are prone to them the little scrappers.

Keep the water nice and clean to help it out, (same for fin rot really as we can't use the meds are friends in America can)

Take a video of your fish and then play frame by frame (or slowly scroll through the video) until you get a clear one. Then, screenshot it and post it here.

It' what I do to take pictures of fish with my phone; it has worked out quite well for me.

looks to be a tear. large tailed guppies will get that from time to time.
