Administrators Cory Posted July 14, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 14, 2020 I haven't used it much as it's hard to get. I believe it takes a vet. I know people who have been in the hobby longer than me love the stuff. Dean swears by it, but I don't think has any.

Administrators Cory Posted July 14, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 14, 2020 Thats worth a test for sure, also if we can document it well enough perhaps Uk fish keepers can have a go too med as I struggle to help those outside of the USA due to different meds. Kiri
Baktopur is great against bacterial infections and I never noticed it harming my fish (gouramis and corydoras) even when I dosed 180% of the recommended dosage. It combines acriflavine with methylene blue. A fish vet also recommended to use 0.5 g of salt per liter in combination with this med for treating my gouramis. If possible, this med should only be used in a quarantine tank because it will probably kill the beneficial bacteria and it seems to work way better in unestablished tanks. It can also harm plants or stain equipment.
