tolstoy21
@ererer I was looking at that Smart Buddy at one point and almost got one. In the end I installed an auto-flush valve and some other components that kind of do the same, but not as simply, as automated and plug-and-play as the Smart Buddy. I've since scaled back on the amount of RO water I make these days, so a few manual steps--like turning a valve this way or that-- isn't too much hassle. 1 hour ago, ererer said: I don't think the sediment or carbon filters need the extra pressure, but I don't know if having the extra pressure shortens the useful life of those filters, or if putting those filters before the booster pump potentially extends the life of the pump? Agreed, I doubt the other filters require a specific pressure as well, but also don't really know. Im going to sick with the idea that the booster exists purely for the efficiency of the RO membrane only as a way to keep from exhausting all your DI resin prematurely (or making RO water with measurable TDS).
