Ordering Plants in Winter

For those who have been with Aquarium Co-Op for over a year, could you advise me.  My 10-year-old has a small tank set up with crypts and a snail.  She wants to fashion it into a shrimp aquarium.  She needs to do more research on shrimp before she orders more plants for this aquarium.  We hope to get shrimp for that tank in February or March.  We live in South Dakota.  How long can I give her to research about shrimp habitats, and then choose plants and hardscape?  Do we need to order these plants before Chanukkah?  before the end of the month?   I just don't want the plants to freeze.  TIA!!!

Coop will replace plants if the freeze. They have heat packs and liners. Don't order if youre expecting a raging blizzard but elsewise you should be fine.

I live in CO and have ordered plants in the winter with great results. Coop does an excellent job with liners, heat packs, and fast shipping. 
 

That being said, I also do my part and make sure the weather forecast seems decent and I haven’t had any issues

with the exception of a serious sub zero blast, the co-ops plants will get to you fine (as long as the usps doesnt lose them).
