Cinnebuns
If i plant a water column feeder into the substrate, does it need root tabs? I've never run into this because any other time I planted one it was along with something else that needed the root tab anyway. I'm planting water sprite and cabomba in my shrimp tank. Should I include root tabs?

redfish
ACO says to use root tabs if planted for water sprite. Just monitor the health if you want to see how it does without root tabs.

Patrick_G
I don’t think you need root tabs for water Sprite. I start mine floating just above the substrate and it does fine.
Jenja
Could be an interesting experiment to put one in a spot with a root tab and one without - you'd be able to see how much impact the extra nutrients from the root tab has versus just the water column dosing.
