EVoyager31
I am thinking if adding crushed coral to increase the water hardness of my 75G planted tank (w/ c02 injection), for the benefit of mu snails specifically. Tank is stocked with tiger barbs, a couple cherries, many mystery snails and an opaline gourami. Question is: Is there any harm in just adding the crushed coral immediately, or should I add slowly or does it matter?
TeeJay
Are you trying to increase the kh or the gh of your water?
Scapexghost
I'd add it slowly just to be safe.
AnimalNerd98
“When adding it to your substrate, we recommend starting with 1 pound of crushed coral per 10 gallons of water. The lower your pH is, the faster it dissolves, so you may need to replace the crushed coral every 6 to 12 months to keep remineralizing your water.” https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/ph-gh-kh I literally just sprinkle it in ✌🏻 Edited August 18, 2022 by AnimalNerd98
Cawafuoshi
Beautiful garden like scape. Do your snails exhibit any deficiencies?
