anewbie
I want to setup a slow flow of water from a faucet at approx 1/2 to 2 gallons per hour but i can't find a valve that would allow such a setting. Anyone heard of such a beast ? Related but slightly different is there a mixer that will allow setting flow from two input sources at precise fractions (i.e, 20% from source 1 and 80% from source 2 ) ? modified lung
For your first question, you're looking for a drip irrigation emitter or flag dripper. For your second, the easiest way is to have two separate valves and time how long it takes to fill a container from each. Then adjust them until they are letting out water at the ratio you want. For example, set them so one valve fills the cup in 5 seconds and the other fills it in 20 seconds. If you want to be able to turn the mixer on and off without needing to resent the flows, add a second set of valves immediately after the first. The first valves will have the ratio set and the second can be opened and closed whenever.
tolstoy21
Check out dripworks.com for drip emitters. Their color-coded ones also contain a check valve (or something internal) that prevents back flow. https://www.dripworks.com/ceta-pc-emitters i use those attached to standard RO tubing. You’ll also need a pressure regulator upstream of them so you don’t blow them off if your line pressure exceeds their rating. https://www.dripworks.com/senninger-high-flow Edited July 27, 2022 by tolstoy21
anewbie
Has anyone tried a 'meter valve'; they seem a bit pricey but would they be of any value here ?
