Mr Gumby
Hi folks, I've been running my 65 gallon tank on 2 parts RO and 1 part tap due to having 20ppm nitrate in my tap water which was giving me algae issues. The algae is now under control and plants well established to the point where hopefully they can out compete algae for nitrate. Tap water is pH 7.3-7.4, GH and KH are around 18. Tank currently running at pH 7, GH and KH 5 to 6 My question is would 20% daily changes with straight tap water be too much on the fish? I generally do more frequent small water changes in the warmer months for garden plants anyway so the extra work isn't an issue for me

A lot of shops / hobbyist do more % daily because of the setups they have available.
