Waterproofing of cheap lights

Hi all,

I'm looking at replacing the basic fluval led that came with the tank for something a bit more plant friendly.

The aquasky and the plant 3 are way too expensive and overkill for my little 90 litre so I'm looking at the hygger or nicrew.

My concern is that it will sit inside the hood where moisture is more of an issue.

Anybody had experience good or bad with these brands??

One of the major factors is going to be the moisture in the air right above the water's surface. If you're running a lid, it's a slightly different story and it's about being careful.  If you aren't, than there is definitely going to be some risk if the light isn't rated above a certain level.

I have used both, but never inside a hood.  Mine are on top of the aquarium sitting above glass lids.  Sorry no help

Good Luck

No problem, I appreciate you taking the time to comment
