55 gallon plants and stocking

Any thoughts on some filler plants?  Other scaping ideas?    
 

I do have black film to place on back but you can see the tank in two rooms so I’m not sure I want to cover a side.  
 
from other threads I will replace this heater tomorrow.  
 

I have some other glow tetras, platys and neons currently in quarantine that will move in next weekend if no more fish die.    
 

there is one ghost shrimp in there and a nerite.

i would suggest crypt parva. its a small crypt very slow growing, but can help carpet some of the substrate.

Crypt wendtii in between the wood in the mid ground. Dwarf chain sword or dwarf sag in the foreground. Valisineria corkscrew in the background. PSO is good for background as well.
