Fish Folk
As I’ve been selling a bunch of young EBAs from my colony tank, I’d like to offer help to anyone trying to sex them. (1) Males tend to grow larger, behave more aggressively, abs occupy the front-center of a tank to show dominance. Colors are more consistently blue. Dorsal fin lengthens slightly. (2) Females will display three clues. First, they’re smaller on the whole. Female EBAs tend to show their ovipositor, creating a visible “point.” And thirdly, though all Acaras will change the colors of their head and exchange body blue for platinum white, females _often_ do this, especially when breeding and guarding eggs / fry. Combine these elements together, and you’ve got a high probability of sexing them correctly.
