Elmer
We are taking a family trip to Gulf Shores Alabama in about a month. We have never been there before and I would really like to take my kids “fishing” for some wild mollies to take back home. Its a long shot but would anyone on here know of a specific area around there where wild mollies are know to inhabit?
Biotope Biologist
I don’t know specifically Alabama, but mollies tend to hangout in waters that outlet into the bay. They like tight (2 humans width) bendy streams of varying depths with lots of spirulina and algae and cover via rock formations or overhanging plants. Just make sure to check with local fish and game laws! Happy hunting
PineSong
You might check out youtube or instagram using search terms like microfishing Gulf Shores Alabama. Or see if they have a fishkeeping club or facebook page for native fishkeepers there. Google shows this: https://www.al.com/living/2014/04/three_mile_creek_beautys_refug.html Which is an hour away from Gulf Shores.
