Acrylic aquarium stand question

Hi there,

I am replacing my 55 gal glass tank (36”x15”x24”) with a 50 gal acrylic one (36”x15”x20”). The current stand has a hole in the middle since it was made to support a glass tank along its perimeter. It does not have a cross beam in the middle. I have attached photos of the stand to this post.

My question is if I got a sheet of plywood to cover the top of the stand would it provide enough support for the base of the acrylic aquarium? If yes, would 1/2” or 3/4” Sande Plywood be sufficient? I would water seal it and add a sheet of foam insulation board on top it as well.

Any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.A1D21E77-A605-42D2-AC77-5ACCF47004E1.jpeg.022e076449f233c3ab7500d75bc437af.jpeg
