OllieAcorn
Hi folks, I wanted to ask what your recommendations are for lights for a mid/low light 20 gal tank? it has a nicrew (the light is 16 in long) on it right now but it would be nice to have a little more light I think, especially now that my floating plants have multiplied. Any lights on the less expensive side that you like?
Gannon
I've found the finnex HLC light to be very nice on my 29 gallon which is low tech but grew an insane dwarf sag carpet. However, I have NICREW skyled plus lights on my 125 which have also been great for mid/low plants. That is a cheaper and probably more economical option.
Patrick_G
You might consider adding a second Nicrew, or go for a single Fluval Aquasky. The app control on the Fluval is great, but I have a Nicrew with a little remote that allows you to adjust levels. It works but isn’t as easy as using the Fluval app.
KaitieG
I have a Nicrew on my 20 gal. that works just fine--probably the same thing you currently have though. Adding a 2nd one would let you adjust the brightness of each to be what you want. I really like my Hygger lights that I have on my 95 gallon too (obviously the size would be different). They're the Planted 24/7 Sunrise/Sunset ones. Not sure that they'd give you more light than the Nicrew though.
BuzzDaddy21
I just received a Nicrew Aqualux plants light 24-30inch version yesterday I let it warm up before using, it is bright. I have 5 Nicrew lights, so far working well.
Beardedbillygoat1975
I’ve liked the Finnex products I have, I plan to buy more of those and If you can find a deal on a Fluval aquasky I’d do that (my plan as well!) otherwise in the budget world right now it feels like Nicrew and Hygger are pretty good value for the money.
