I am currently planting some scarlet temples in an Asian decor tank. They're supposed to be pretty easy with not much in the way of light requirements and don't need CO2; they do suggest using fertilizer plus the iron supplement to help bring out the reds. We'll see how it turns out. That's really the only red plant I know of.

I run all medium light, low tech tanks at this time. I think the easiest red plant for me is red tiger lotus. Some others that I’ve tried are Rotala H’ra,  Rotala Wallichii, and AR. With those the tips turn red but I have trouble keeping the lower stems healthy. In my little Wabi Kusa tank I have some Rotala Macranda that is really bright red but it was grown emersed so I’m not sure if it’ll stay that way submerged.

Alternanthera rieniki rosenervig grows well for me using only white on a cheap Amazon Hygger light no fertz no co2 no root tabs. I put in a planter near the surface. I also have success with pinks ludwiga broadleaf and narrow leafEA547763-98A5-441E-9790-655C72767619.jpeg.a0090c05a0ff6ebd3ac9e6252b096628.jpeg91142B7A-4D7C-447C-96A8-9F3BA1560017.png.a5568c49e94160f52ac20363663d51c4.png

Hey, Mr. The Fishman. What do you think of that Stingray 2 now that you've had it for a while. I just put one on my 55 long and I'm worried it's too much light and things will get out of hand. I'm just growing easy stem plants mostly. Do you think it's too much light for a Low-tech aquarium?

not at all. and i love it my low tech tank is doing awesome!
