What type of tank would suit kuhli loaches, 4-5 female bettas cities and maybe a few 3-7cm fish to swim about? (size in litres please) ( has to be available in ireland)

I think that a 75 liter aquarium that is longer than tall is adequate. In US, we’d say “20 gal. long.”

Lots of plants always preferable. Female Betta sororities can be beautiful… but sometimes they devolve into little tornados of death.

We had problems with our girls getting egg-bound. Not sure how to resolve that.

Thank you so much! You see are local fish shop keeps female Bettas together and fingers cross they are o.k together

Betta sororities can be alot of fun and it's good your LFS does this as it should reduce chances of aggression.

 

Although always keep vigilant, sometimes serial killers emerge from these sororities so always have a backup plan just in case.

 

I agree with fish folk here 60-75l should be good and providing multiple caves or plant towers is ideal. Having fast dither fish like danio or tetra is preferable to also help reduce aggression.

I am going to move the cities from my current tank to my new tank while putting pygmy cories in my current. (Cities in my post should be cories)
