Patrick_G
What immediately stands out is the Hillstream Loaches prefer lower temps and Gold Rams like higher temps. I think there is little or no overlap in their temperature ranges.
FiShrewd
as you know corey has kept them with clown loaches which also prefer more temperature than rams plus the ones i have have are bred in [82] 28 degrees Edited November 2, 2021 by FiShrewd
mynameisnobody
I’m definitely not a Rams expert by any means, but I believe the Amano’s would be toast. Maybe not immediately but as they grow they may fancy a shrimpy snack.
anewbie
The rams would go after the shrimp but if there is sufficient hiding places they might survive. As noted the hillstream would bake at 82. Before you run out and get clown loaches be aware that they can grow to 8-12 inches; require a group of 6 or more (10 is better) and need quite a bit of swimming space. Patrick_G
Sterbai Corydoras would be a good option. I think they’re one of the best looking Corydoras and they thrive in the same temps as Golden Rams.
