GUPPY92
Hey guys I was wondering if a guy could add a little calcite to freshwater aquarium to neutralize PH and bring up the KH in water? What would happen if i add some? Would it be the same as adding crushed Coral? Thank you
Administrators Zenzo Posted October 14, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2021 I believe that calcite is mostly calcium carbonate (may contain other minerals like iron and magnesium, and is often found in reef tanks. I believe that it could/would raise the pH and hardness in your tank. Yes, it should be similar to crushed coral (essentially same building blocks).
