Mr Gumby
Hi good people, Just after some confirmation of the correct dosing of panacur as a dewormer. The internet is consistent on 0.1g per gallon which I'm assuming is US gallons as we work mainly in litres over here. 3.8 litres per gallon . What I'm not sure of is when to re-dose? I'll be following up 2 weeks later and 2 weeks after that but is it a single dose each time? I've read conflicting info TIA Gareth
Administrators Zenzo Posted September 9, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2021 A quick search showed me this from an online vet site: Bendazole Fenbendazole (Panacur) Fenbendazole is used primarily to treat worms in horses. In addition, it is useful in the fight against fish nematodes such as Camallanus. It can be purchased as an equine anthelmintic. In the aquarium hobby, this medicine is used as a powder or granule, not a dough. A three-week course of treatment is carried out by the method of long baths with a dose of 2 – 3 mg/liter, and on the 7th and 14th days, the procedure is repeated. Administrators Zenzo Posted September 9, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2021 @Mr Gumby Regarding my other comment, please note that I have never used Fenbendazole for my fish (only my dogs), so I am not giving advice. This is just what I found online that may help you (or add further confusion).
