Frogmouth Catfish
The mudfish, aka hingemouth, aka phraectolemus ansorgii(!) are really cool little fish, not much seems to be known about them. A paper from the early 2000s detailed gut contents on collected individuals, and found that they're mostly detritus eaters, as they found their stomachs were full of a mix of sand, green and brown algae, and the occasional bit of shrimp (unclear if they were feeding on dead shrimp or fry). They probably benefit from biofilm, or mulm, or botanicals, or just an established tank.
Robert
My work associate says he saw them going after frozen daphnia but I haven't confirmed this with my eyes yet.

I'm hoping my LFS here on the east coast can get some in, it's always exciting to work with fish about which little is known. There are a couple of youtube videos from Japanese fishkeepers in the past decade showing them feeding, one on bloodworms and the other on what look like small sinking wafers.
Robert
@Frogmouth Catfish I finally watched the Mudfish eat. Didn't really see the mouth come out but saw one actively swimming around nabbing at cyclops and what looked to be particles in the water. I did film it. Looks like I need to create a YouTube account I can try to upload the video to there if I find time.

Good to know, when I hopefully get mine I'll experiment with different food types including cyclops and see what they go for.
