If the Angel is trying to “clean off” a place to lay eggs, it may appear like it’s nipping a large leaf of sword. But if it’s actually _eating_ the plant... that’s a bit unusual. All fish do eat son e plant matter in their diet. It’s helpful to mix in a food like Bug Bites Spirulina flakes, or Omega One Veggie / Kelp to fish diet regularly.
Andy's Fish Den
I would say that it is either cleaning the leaf as a place to lay eggs or there was something on there that looked yummy to the fish. I don't know that I have ever seen an angelfish "eat" a plant, maybe pick at some algae, not actually eat any plant.
ccurtis
It’s the weirdest thing. It’s the only angel in the tank. I regularly feed spirulina flakes and frozen spirulina brine shrimp.
