Thank you! Anxiety sucks, doesn't it. I'm ok but I know the fish trigger me! I have 3 airstones running with no heater. He's been doing great, active and eating and then tonight he's at the top of the water not 100% of the time though.How much of that is normal? If he has something in his gills will I see it? I know flukes are microscopic but I've been seeing some clear/whitey/yellow flakes and I wondered it it was something in his gils because it wasn't his poop.. Could something be expelling as he gets treated?It doesn't look likr poo I made medicated food with the dewormer ingredient. I was nervous. He seemed mostly ok. At one point after I had started feeding him the meds he did a little darting kind of thing...fast zippy movements (maybe flashing?) but only for a minute or so and then he was fine. Could the parasites be dying and irritating him? Definitely there is lots of pooping all kinds of colors and textures.

once I stop treatment he would be back surface breathing which he has never done in the past. So, its been his scale loss and surface breathing that set of alarms for me. He doesn't stay up all day but he spends time up there in a corner. I know I'm anxious. I'm sorry...I'm new 🙂

Thank you so very much 🙂 This began first with some scale issues and I scraped one scale that fell off and I decided to analyze his poop and saw the white and red worms. Two other fish died around this time his pal goldie and a betta. The betta had a swollen belly and I thought stupidly that it was a turmor. He was 2. More details..... I have one goldfish in this 40 gallon tank without plants and 4 airstones with a large marineland hob filter with media stones and sponges. I removed the substrate today.( After I did this he began surface breathing and hadn't started doing that since I began general cure about a month) I figured it stirred them up. I have not seen any wiggling things. Nothing seems alive. He has aquarium salt 1 tablelspoon per 2 gallons (started yesterday. Prior to this I was doing 1 per 5 He has had a couple epsom salt baths over the weekend. Tonight I ran and got the med that Colu recommended. i followed some online recipe for medicated food and fed him some. Ive given him a pea twice today to help push out the worms. He is pooping unusual poops...some white, twisted, thin thick...etc) I'm really concerned with his scale loss as well. I do understand anchor worms are external but I thought I read they can be both. All of this began this past fall.....will grab parametesr now.

I’ve used prazi pro for a a month! I do have salt in there 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons ;I started lower) I’ve done something right (I hope) thank you!!!

You had helped me before! But it isn’t fixed. thede things are all in his poop microscope. I’ve treated with paraguard exoel p Geneeal cure. 5 treatments. mum sorry to be so needy. Do these pics show up? Worms?

Hey everyone. I really, really need some advice and help, please. I've asked some questions earlier and I've still not combated these worms. Red worms (cam), white tape worm, and ANCHOR WORMS. I'm getting panicked and need some advice. I want to treat him asap. Using my microscope I found a million anchor worms two days ago. I've done 5 treatments of general cure for the last month or so. I didn't know about the anchor worms. Should I use the trio and something for the anchor worms? I only have access to Microbe-life lice and anchor worm treatment. The main ingredients look the same. I've removed the substrate/sand because I cannot believe how many were there. his surface breathing symptom started a couple months ago. I've had him for 2 years. 40 gallon, prime.. He has been losing scales for months then a month or two....Breathing on top. I saw white worms out his mouth one night. Advised to get Fritz expel p and did several treatments a couple months ago. I've tried paraguard, general cure, fritz expel P, (xtra O2), 2 epsom salt baths, and the salt in his tank is 1 tbslp per 2 gallons Yesterday was the 5th treatment of general cure (I didn't know about the anchor worms) He is active and eating and hasn't been surface breathing until right now as I type this. Maybe I stirred around all the worms in the sand. (I got a betta last fall, didn't quarantine and i'm sure transferred the worms) Thanks for listening. I don't have fish people! I will update with water parameters and pics....

Thank you! He has a ton of almond leaves ans a bit of salt. It’s changing and I have no idea if it’s growing back or getting worse!

It’s healing or is something spreading?? it is getting large fast it started in the right side I tried to pluck it out when it was smaller now it’s forming the same kind of shape. When the light shines through him you can see the shape they are symmetrical? he came loaded with bugS

Hi there! I tried an antibiotic a while ago for his popeye. It seemed to be helping so I moved on to worms...because he came with them and gave them to my other fish. (I had 2 goldies and 2 bettas). (I saw the gross worms...2 kinds in my goldie with my microscope.) One goldie died and then the betta did. One was red, one white and then some thin white worms hanging out his mouth at night. Soooo... Reccs were to treat for flukes and internal worms. I started that treatment and switched between Prazi pro and expel p by fritz which I've been doing for several weeks....2 months perhaps. So....I haven't really tried an antibiotic again, worried abut the worms. (I had tried kanaflex) I didn't think the thing looked bacterial but i'm not an expert. There is the same kind of thing on the other side in nearly the same spot. I have gotten metroplex coming today. it was recommended after the kanaflex. Thanks!

LHello:) I’m wondering if anyone can help me figure out if i can treat this or it’s a tumor? This fish was the one i believe gave my goldfish worms so he’s treated with prazi pro and then expel p for several weeks I noticed a couple weeks ago. I could see something growing from his right, back lower spot. I think I saw another one and it looks like it. It seems to grow fast. I’d like to remove it? Looking at the picture it seems to look like little circles? He is in a bit of salted water with a lot of ial some new pics from the last two days. Really hard to get a good picture. You guys helped me figure out that my Goldie had worms and he seems to be doing good!

I have a few ial in there and got the salt too. He seems to be doing ok. I'm doing 1 tblsp for the 5 gal tank. I've used it with my goldfish but I'm leery with the little guy. When I pulled the first part off it left an x bloody x.......not super bloody but you could see some blood in that shape. I will add another pic. Thank you !! That's so nice of you! I hope he will be ok! Hes swimming and eating! The little thing just grew quick and I was told tumors grow slow.....so wasn't sure! Again thanks!!

Hello. I’ve recently been watching my betta who seemed to have a bit of a white spot on his right side. It’s getting larger quick….to me it looks like some kind of worm I tried to remove it but only got a portion. Two small skinny reddish pieces of tissue were removed? could this be a hook worm? One looks to be growing about the same place on the other side but smaller I’ve been treating my goldfish for parasites (unknown exactly…there is a thread here.) I was treating him too but he was dealing with popeye so I started using kanaplex. (Better but not gone. Any suggestions next step). Ty! The first pics June 16 but had been there at least a week before latest are today. Super hard to get a good pic! nitrate 10 nitrite 0 hsrdness 0 buffer 40 ph 6.8 Chlorine 0

Hey you guys! I’m still treating Clem. I started the expel p and now I’m on the prazi pro. I haven’t noticed any scales lately which was good. But now with the prazi I have found 3 scales cleaning his tank tonight. The light to my scope needs a new battery so I didn’t get super clear shots. I put them in a container to examine tomorrow. i also found another long red worm and only checked the scales since they fell off. I didn’t see anything moving. This chunk of black stuff isn’t visible to the naked eye.

Thanks! I know! I keep looking for “proof” but I’ve seen the literal worms so i should relax! I’ve def had detritus worms before so yeah. I’d rather these!

Just an update in case anyone is looking for parasites in their fish. I’m pretty sure eggs and the big white blob? Just part of the worm? 🤢

Could they have been there for 2 years? He has always has one side larger. someone had mentioned worms, egg bound, air bladder…..or tumor. Does this med have a long half life working for a week? I’ve treated my betta last night.. He was the last fish I got. I definitely switched media/plants. He seems ok but thought it was best. My other betta died last week but I thought it was his age. And he seemed to have what I thought was a tumor in his side. he was over 2.5 years I’m so thankful for the expel p rec!

Do I add more medication tho? I did. If removed water? this morning there were a few disgusting super long gross white “poop” wrapped around some silk plants which resembled worms and that looked like the white poop that I read hangs down from the fish. Super gross. I hope that is the white worms we saw. I made some medicated food. Shiuld I use this daily? He takes it well. thanks!

Here are a few more disgusting pictures. These look like tiny threads all twisted together and kind of segmented. This is the second large one…. someone advised me a microscope is good to have! For a very cheap pocket one I think it’s not too bad!

Ammonia spike I did one treatment if expel p yesterday. 24 hours later this morning changed 25% tonight (about 30 hours after dose)ammonia is spiked. What should I do? Can I change more water? Shiuld I redose the expel p? Should I dose prime? ty!! I really appreciate all your help!

Oh boy. I cleaned his filter last night and forgot to dump the water. This morning I walked by the bucket and thought weird! Wonder how a pine needle get in there?? and tonight….cleaning and this is def a worm!!
