  1. Ty!!! Lol!!! Everyone said the same thing!!! I just didn’t think it seemed right especially with those worms out his mouth. How bad is this? How long could he have had them? groooosssss.
  2. I’ve started the fritz expel p this morning. I see red worms in his poop now. Not visible to naked eye…….
  3. His poop isn't clear! I can't figure out the quote thing.... His poop is usually green vegetation like stuff. He's been mostly on greens and repashy and occasionally a bit of banana or orange pulp. Once a week blood worms or brine shrimp. Now that I think of it, I gave him a tiiiny pinch of dry food the other day. That stuff must swell up like crazy. He is acting well mainly. I wouldn't' think he was sick without the scales falling off. It's been at least or 8....since they started in the fall and when using the prazipro they were scratching after beginning it and then once I had stopped for a day or so it began. (the worm/mouth too is upsetting. Haven't seen it again. That happened a few days after I started the Polyguard which I had thought was maybe killing them. I know I'm crazy. Apologies...anxiety here.
  4. Other details: Pics to follow Thank you guys so much. I have had him for two years, started in the pond for summer and came inside last fall. He's in 40 gallon alone (friend passed away about a month now). He has two airstones and a bubble wall, a heater, a filter. I use prime changing the water. I double the dose usually because I have higher chloromine...Someone helped me with this. Dottie was very floaty after water changes. Paremeters: Temp78 Ph 7.5 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5.-10 salt 1 tablesoon /per 3 gallons Polyguard for over a week now I change his water frequnetly, weekly at least usually more He eats terrific. Poops seem ok until yesterda.....and I noticed these segmented odd poops. It looked like fish pellets. Unusual for him....so I got the microscope out and tried again. History... They seemed like small threads and they weren't super long. April 1 He lost another scale so I scraped under it and atually did see 2 or 3 wiggling worms via microscope. I haven't yet seen anymore after that time. Nobody else has confirmed this but I swear I see the two worms twitching. 4/5 begin salt 1 tblsp/3 gallons...this has been consistent since this date 4/10 dosage of polyguard 4/13 4/16 4/19 4/22 Today I'm studying him and I noticed a couple of other things on his right side that look like they are sticking out of him like the other one. I will put some videos up on youtube and I have other pictures I will add following this post
  5. Also I do feed bloodworms occasionally. But I can not see these threads to the naked eye. I will trust you tho….
  6. The first video shows more closely. I really scraped the underside of a fallen scale and saw a few worms wiggling. thank you! Wiggling things here I don’t think I see any more thought
  7. That is a freaking ton of insects!!! Like...it must be hundreds because in my tiny teaspoons I was getting so many. Way less than before, tho. The day I started the meds there were soooo many! Little rolled up balls...I don't know. It's seems so gross and i hope its helping. Nobody seems to be able to figure out what my guys problem is! When I scraped under one of the scales that fell of there were some little wiggly things which I thought maybe was flukes. Thank you so much!!!
  8. I’m currently treating him with Polyguard. He had lost scales…I have another thread about him. And he’s doing better….he’s had 3 doses I saw one of these clusters the other say but lost it on the glass ( I have bigger pieces of glass.) Lots of these black egg things and a tonnnn of the black hairs which I cannot visibly see without the (cheap) microscope. There were waaay more of the threads. Little clusters all rolled up? he just have some rare thing? I cannot find anything like this online. Thanks!
  9. Another clue? I saw something hanging off Clem the other day but I thought it was maybe slime or something. Video on you tube. It’s at the base of his tail. thanks everyone!
  10. I have more pictures. There are tons of these black things. My microscope is no good! I checked his poop because it was weird and stringy.
  11. Could this be lice? Something was hanging off Clem last week. I thought it was that little piece of “skin” hanging off but I wonder if a lice? It seems almost clear with some dots. Video here: Update: ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5.0 Temp 72* water Chang yesterday 50% (changed water before testing. ) prime 4 scoops of the Polyguard. Day 3 of first treatment. Yesterday he was open mouth breathing for an hour is so. Adjusted airstones, seemed to stop and isn’t doing it this morning. . eating wonderfully lots of swimming could he be agitated? Definitely rubbing the glass bottom now the aquarium dude 🙂 said based in on my first pic he’d guess anchor woRm. (Other thread I made in a panic attack. Could this be worsening? Or improving? Other meds were recommended above. Continue with this? If anchor worm I know this won’t treat. Other pics on the other thread (sorry!) Haven’t got the paraguard but ordering this am. Discontinue the poly guard? Thank you!
  12. Last week I noticed this. Something hanging off the base of his tail and moving prob due to the water? Video YouTube.
  13. THANK YOU! Hopefully its going to be easy to treat? Gosh that was gross!!! How long can they live with anchor worms? Could my betta have brought it home? I had switched some plants around so I know 'stuff' was passed around. I'm a very slow learner! 🙂
  14. I have another thread going…but I’m super anxious I noticed a little thing hitting out of Clem so I decided to try and take it off it disappeared while we handled him and couldn’t see it he lost a scale so I scraped under it and there are some long threads zooming in the look red and then I saw another little black thing and looked my microscope only goes to 60 75.0 7.6 Ammonia zero nitrite zero nitrate 5.0 50% water change today Used prime eating well I could have used my other thread but again, little upset
  15. Here is Clem again. I’ve been noticing this small thing sticking out of his side. Not anchor worm? Don’t see the double tail thing…..
  16. Hi! Thank you!! I do have chloramine! And i was told that my chlorine was high because one fish used to float after each water change! So I started to double it and it went well. I had a ridiculously difficult time cycling the tank. It took months and it seemed like after the additional prime it finally was done! Now back to where I started. Previous I couldn't get the ammonia lower than .25.I'm so confused! I will continue with the polyguard since I just started it this weekend. And I will read further! Thank you so much! I wish I read this while I struggled! Bottle after bottle of bottled bacteria...ugh.
  17. sorry....I forgot to add do you think I should keep adding the 1 tablespoon per 3 gallons? I did a 50 percent change today and have not yet added the extra salt. These mouth worms have appeared after starting the polypro for one day. I haven't noticed again. Maybe because he was sleeping i had seen them. he is a little agitated i think.
  18. Reporting back. I'm not terribly surprised i have some ammonia. I've been changing water every day to keep it really clean. He is in a 40 gal standard tank alone temp 75.8 (I had it at 78 but have lowered it. Ph 7.6 High Ph 7.4 ammonia 5.0 nitrite zero 0 Nitrates 5.0 I use prime with each water change. 50% water change. 2 little scoops of polyguard added for 20 gallons. Thank you for your help and time! I'm so grateful for the help! other facts....He is eating well, as normal. He has been open mouth breathing but not looking distressed at times. He has been yawning a lot. My other goldie passed away a couple weeks ago. She was still rubbing the substrate after the prazi. I think I overdosed the tank with too much prime and after a while I noticed her up at the top a lot which is very unusual for her. She was a little floaty/ryukin. I think she took in too much air and she became weak and was upside down. She was moved into a hospital tank where she passed after 1.5 weeks
  19. Thanks! I will check my parameters. he’s eating well and I have a couple extra air stones now. I use prime. I changed the water yesterday. He’s definitely rubbing on the glass bottom a lot!! This is new. I’ve never noticed him do this before. could this indicate that the meds are working? I will return with paremeters!! thank you so much for your help!
