Those certainly look much sturdier than the other metal stand.  I think a board on top of your table would look much nicer than these metal stands and be quite safe on top of your table.  The board would sit on your very sturdy table legs and you wouldn’t have to worry at all about the center being possibly not as sturdy.  Most big box stores will cut a piece of plywood for you if you can take them exact measurements.  You can buy a 1/4 sheet of 3/4’ thick, outdoor grade plywood.  Buy some 3/4” wide trim strips that you only have to tack on with small brads.  Paint it a waterproof, semigloss black, and violá!  Beautiful!  Your table top is protected and overall, likely sturdier than either of the metal stands.

OK duck ~ i’m going to get a piece of plywood to cover the entire top of my table? A simple yes or no would work with me because I am not too bright when it comes to this stuff🤣

And then do I have to screw it down here or can I just set it on top? And then the aquarium can  go in the middle of the table? It is not going to be sitting on the legs per se’ because it’s not that long. I’m sure you’re do you know that. I just remember reading or asking if the tank would be sitting on the corners supported by the legs and it will not. I don’t wanna have to screw it down and I don’t want to have to go get little pieces for each corner.  I work so much and it is going to be time-consuming for me to do this. But if you think I could get that piece of plywood and I will be okay moving forward I might consider this. I just wanted you to know that this table is old ~ my folks traveled the world and lived in Saudi Arabia for years ~ they bought it somewhere on earth but it is old.

I have 5 of the Brooklyn imagitarium ones. Holding 20L, 29, 40B. My husband cut pretty boards for on the bottom to make shelves. They have leveling feet since my fish room is carpeted. They work great and are easy to put together. They don’t look as awkward once the tank is up. It keeps the focus on the tank vs tank and stand as a display. Hope that helps.

That sounds wonderful!  You know it’s all a lie without pictures😂♥️

    Well shitums ~ I merged 2 replies I don’t know how I did that🤭

    I am sorry!

Beautiful chest!  I don’t know if I could bring myself to risk water around that carved chest!

@Patrick_G I agree on that PetCo stand!  No way would I put a tank on that thing!

Thank You!  OK Duck ~  what do you think about these two.  Kind of ugly but they look sturdy😂

Agreeing with the above.  Get a friend and stand on it.  Does it feel wobbly or solid?

If it passes that test, make sure the entire tank sits on it (no overhang) and that it's level.  Maybe even do a 24hour test with water and check for any bowing, if you are able to!

The table is really pretty and will make a lovely tank stand - but then again - I love a good alternative tank stand!!

Thank You!  I had 3 55 gallon tanks all at the same time and can’t ever leave the house thinking oh my god what if I come back and….

I would be more worried If I didn’t have an appropriate aquarium stand moving forward..

For me it’s all about peace of mind!

May not need to.  Can you turn the table over and show us close up pics of where the leg meets the sides?  We might be able to tell if you can still use it.  It’s a great table, so if you can use it would look terrific as a stand!

    Ok!  If I don’t come back it’s squashed me😂😂

Would the tank edge be over those corner posts or entirely supported by the horizontal bits?

Katherine! I just measured that stand. I don’t care about the height because that’s fine but it is 40 inches long and the width is 14 1/2.

My tank will be 30 inches long by 12” wide.

I’m so bad at measuring so your question is ~ is the tank going to be over those corner posts probably not because the table is 40 inches long and the tank is 30.  Right?

As @Katherineindicated, it isn't possible to answer that without knowing the dimensions of the table.

    30” long and 14 1/2 wide.

If your aquarium corners can rest on the legs, you’re probably OK. But if it sits interior of the legs, I fear the sheer pressure on the screws might be an issue. You could probably cut a piece of sturdy plywood to fit the full space of the table top, and stain or pain that as you like. That would distribute the overall weight well even if the tank’s corners don’t come out over the legs.

Ugh. I’m thinking I’m gonna be buying a stand!

Very good point.  It looks solid but it needs a careful assessment of its construction style before use as a stand.

I agree! I guess I’ll just go by the damn stand!  Thank you so much!♥️

  5. Is there a way to stay logged in on this site? Every time I come I have to do my email and my password. It’s very annoying. And yes the little box I checked, says stay logged in, but it doesn’t work😞

  6. Hi I am Marie from California!🐟

I am starting a 29 long aquarium soon. I am hoping to have two discus, German Rams, Rummynose tetra, and neon and Cardinals.

I am going to have a few live plants and white sand. I have been keeping aquariums for years but I’ve been out of the game for a while. Discus are my favorite❤️ let me know your thoughts and how many of each. I’m looking at some Coreys to but I’m really not sure or know anything about them.

I have two questions if somebody could help me. How do I stay logged into this site I clicked or checked the little box to stay logged in but it doesn’t work. Also how do I reduce my photos to the accepted file type?

    🍸Thanks guys ~
