  1. @Gator I was able to create a makeshift divider in the tank with some needling mesh so the males won’t be able to bother the female. If by tomorrow morning she hasn’t had the babies I’ll put her in the basket with some plants but I definitely won’t disturb her if it’s too late.
  2. @Gator good to know about the lighting. I really appreciate the information. I don’t know if you are familiar with @Dean’s Fishroom breeding basket strategy that allows the small fry to escape out of the basket while keeping the mother inside? I was planning on attempting it but I didn’t know if keeping the female in the basket would stress her out and cause detriment to the birthing process.
  3. Thank you! Can you tell how close? I have been able to see the eyes of the fry for a few days at this point. I heard that is when she is very close. Also will she give birth early in the morning time-wise or early in the “morning” of the light cycle I have on the tank? As of now the light comes on at 8 am.
  4. Will do! She is. I will post a picture of the males that she mated with. (Thought I was getting a trio with two females, ended up the other way around)
  5. I know to most of you this probably isn’t very exciting, but I’m about to have my first guppy fry! Every day I stare at this tank saying “Today is the day!” She’s got to be so close. Less than 24 hours later…. It’s Happened!!!! Unfortunately I wasn’t home when it happened but I just got back and we got babies!! Mother and fry all look to be healthy as well
  6. @Colu Here is an update for you. Last night I started the second round of Paracleanse treatment. (day 3) This afternoon when I went to check on the tank the cory with the clamped fins seems to now have fin rot as a chunk of his tail is missing. He is also still clamped. What should I do now? I also don't know if the other fish are sick as well just not showing any symptoms. They physically look the same as before but maybe they also have something going on.
  7. I'm looking forward to my christmas tree looking like the Griswald's tree this year! 1 pump per foot of tree maybe?
  8. Alright I’ll give the brine shrimp a go. Since it is a laxative it may help them pass anything as well
  9. @Colu ok the other fish with clamped fins is quite thin and the rest are thin but not quite sunken in yet. If you were to feed what would be your go to considering I don’t have repashy or bbs?
  10. @Brandon p unfortunately no. I don’t have any bbs or repashy. I have krill flake, algae wafers, vibra bites, co-op fry food, and frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Should I feed them while still medicating them? I think I’ve heard Cory say once that it’s usually easier for the fish to pass any worm or parasite if they aren’t fed anything
  11. @Colu last night I started the paracleanse treatment and this morning the fish was dead. There appears to be another fish with clamped fins leaving only 4 looking normal now. The other cory with clamped fins looks to be in better shape than the now dead one. He is swimming around a bit. I will remove the dead fish and finish out the treatment as the box recommends. Unfortunate 😕 @Guppysnail here is a bit of an update. Hoping for the best moving forward.
  12. @colu I called a bunch of local stores to see if they carried expel P that I could grab tomorrow. No luck so far. If I can't get expel P but have paracleanse on hand already should I give that another go or just wait a few days and order Expel P online?
  13. @Colu Alright I will try to find some and start the treatment tomorrow. Thanks for your expertise
  14. @Coluok thank you. Should I treat With levamisole/Expel-P or something else?
  15. Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the hobby! It is nice to have a fellow Ute on this forum. Greetings from Salt Lake!👋
  16. Oh no! I’ll order some expel p right away because I do not have any levamisole currently. This may be a dumb question but should I assume that all of the healthy looking Pandas are sick as well? I only have the 1 quarantine tank so in order to isolate the sick one, the others would have to go into my display tank. Bad idea? Thank you for your reply
  17. Please Help! I recently bought a group of 6 panda corys which came in very small. I put them in the quarantine tank and put the med trio through them and a couple of days later I have noticed one of the corys with clamped fins. (the rest look fine). I put some food in towards the end of the first week of quarantine but I don't think he is eating much and belly is very sunken in.... I really don't want to lose him 😞 Tank's water parameters will be below along with a picture of the little guy. Water Parameters Nitrate <10 Nitrite 0 Hardness 200 ppm KH 60 pH 7.2 Chlorine 0 Ammonia <0.5 ppm Water Temp 74 F
  18. Thanks for the reply. The capabilities of the fluval seems mightly hard to pass up but if i'd still be in the same situation I am now then it doesn't make much sense. Hopefully somebody out there has an experience with a 40 breeder and a 3.0. These wide tanks are a blessing and a curse!!
  19. Good morning everyone, I had a quick question regarding the Finnex stingray... I currently have 1 on my 40 breeder and while I think it does ok at growing plants, I find that I struggle with anything that isn't low light. Also despite having the light placed in the center of the tank, the front and back corners definitely become dead spots and don't get the same amount of light as the center. My question to you all... With black friday coming up would it be your recommendation to either try to grab another stingray and double up the lighting? OR look at upgrading to a Fluval 3.0? I have looked at the the Fluval and it has 120 degrees of light spread which I believe is more than the stingray so I'd be able to just do the one and take advantage of being able to play with a wider variety of plants? I'd appreciate any feedback and user experience that is out there. I hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks!
  20. I’ve tried that with a mix of krill flakes/algae wafers, vibra bites/algae wafers, co-op fry food/ bloodworms. No such luck yet. :(
  21. Lol Good points! I can see how it would take 30 minutes minutes for them to adjust. I have my tank going from full light to darkness and the fish still seem quite active after about half an hour. I really am interested in trying a repashy food in the future. Just hasn’t been a priority for me with the fish and foods I currently have. Definitely something to look into though. It’s hard to find something the embers won’t eat lol. I feel like to more of them there are in the school the more foods they eat! Follow the leader I suppose
  22. @Guppysnail Oh I forgot to ask this earlier... What do you think about feeding after the lights go out? From what I hear corydoras can be semi nocturnal but I'm not sure if that would prevent the tetras still. Sorry to bug you!
  23. Thanks @Guppysnail I'll have to give that a try today! I always keep my fingers crossed that you will respond to my posts lol 😁
  24. This only issue that I find with this is that the tetras eat way faster than the cory's who like to graze on their food. Once the surface and the water column are free of food, they set their sights on the cory's...
