  1. Yes it’s true the filter itself has all the bio. You need….   But when you change the pad you don’t have any bio bacteria.  The bio wheel does.   And I believe some bacteria lives in water and a different bio bacteria lives on a wet surface.

  2. I agree I would and do use Aquarium Co Op test.  I find them to be accurate as any other test.  So much of that depends on storage over a longer time period…..  and with the container they come in that shouldn’t be a problem…..

    Good Luck

  3. I had that question with some other medications a couple years ago.
I emailed the manufacturer, their response was although they have 4-8 months figured in past that date - taking into purchase date and up to the date of use.  But everything depends on how the product is stored.   They also suggested as time goes on it just become less effective.  Should not do any harm.
I don’t believe salt has an expiration date if kept dry……..

    Good Luck

  4. Depends what caused it.

    01. Remove all stress.

    02. I have use newly hatched Baby Brine, frozen can work as well.

    03.  Frozen peas…   Thawed and remove outer shell.

    04.  Epsom Salt and a little aquarium salt.  1 teaspoon per 5to10 gallons and raise temperature maybe to 80-83 degrees.

But I believe all of these treatments will work best if this is caused by constipation.  The epsom salt will help relieve swelling if it is more that constipation.

    Good Luck

It's a great way to declore without getting ripped off by Seachem. 😁👍

Why would you treat RO/DI water with it??

I wasn’t treating RO/DI water.    That is what I used.  I think I purchased a pound and put it in a gallon of RO/DI Water.   And that one gallon could treat 37,800 gallo a of regular tap water.   Sorry for any confusion.

  6. I leave mine and in the aquarium.   Back in a corner behind some driftwood and plants.
I also love using mine to clean my glass lids.    It is so much easier than removing lids weekly and taking to laundry tub to wash and remove algae….

  7. I’m not sold on this idea.  I have pretty good RO/DI unit.
    01.  Isn’t there efficiently related to water pressure?

    02. Mine removes everything, but wouldn’t you want something in the water?  Mine says on it do not consume on a regular basis.  We (fish) need some minerals?

    03. If are just going to target ammonia, nitrates and nitrites couldn’t you use more plants?

    I don’t know….  I guess I have some reading to do.    Thanks
