Awww poor murphy. He is so adorable

I keep my zucchini in the tank for two days or more and no issues. Maybe it is a bacterial bloom? Organics breaking down may have caused a bacterial bloom which makes the water cloudy but clears up on it's own. If it's not that then I'm not sure. But it is just a vegetable so I would think it's safe for fish.

How did you breed them? A mop? How do you tell male from female?

Hello All,
I was wondering how to breed CPDs
I have very soft water and I want to try to spawn them but I don't know what I need or how to do it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cool the goodeids are one of my favorite Livebearers but I don't have a tank for them. Hopefully some in the future
Awesome!

Awesome! I found the guppies and tiger limias online. I also found a breeder of goodieds.

Ok that sounds like the best approach

It’s going on the tank not the sump
Well then there shouldn't be an issue

Wave maker in or out of the sump. By the sounds of it you are putting it in the tank? There is no problem if the wave maker is in the tank, the sump however isn't a good idea

Awesome!

Fish Boy's channel if it helps https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpJpBddbpb--c_A7Rgxsvlg
I assume you already are subscribed to him. Things happen and people get caught up

My sister also has breed them in soft water no problem
-
My sister has accidentally breed them before. Hard water, a good group of them, enough cover for babies, none aggressive fish, BOOM baby rabbits.

I bought some off of amazon. I have used them for over a year and everything is still in perfect shape. I use them in built in filters, sumps, canister and HOB filters.

Both will work just great. I don't know the whole story of what has happened or what you've done so far. The ramshorn could be old. What is your KH and GH in the tank? Do you buffer if so with what?

I would assume yes as long as the bites aren't too large for the small puffer mouth

I found in my experience and opinions from friends, that the harder the water the better breeding

You had me until here :). I've gotten water from this tank splashed in my mouth accidentally when doing a water change...so many flavors...none good.
Watch the water come down the tube then put it in the bucket

Some recommend to only treat when something is wrong. However I would only treat with the med trio a few days after you get the fish so they aren't stressed. If anything seems off I would take the meds out of the water

Attach an airstone to airline tubing. Put airstone at the level you want to drop the water level to. You can let it sit there or use a suction cup for airline tubing to keep it in place. Then start the siphon with your mouth. There ya go, no baby shrimp get sucked up

Finally I was able to get some wigglers and in a week or so will be getting ready to feed. Does anyone have Vinegar Eels so I can get a culture going? I live in Bothell/Mill Creek but willing to drive and meet up.
Do you need any live foods still? I have microworms and grindal worms, bbs too. And small seed shrimp which are great for ram fry.

@BriannesFishFam after my disappointment with my tub overheating and killing one of my 5 platinums I took no risks. If I had a steady stream of eggs from the adult platinums I’d be hatching them with aged water, Rubios tea and some moss but I was scared. I work in medicine and sterile technique is second nature so that’s the direction I went. I probably built it all Up in my head and let my anxiety drive the process. I may be more chill about it with subsequent spawns.
Nice! I have been looking for some rarer type rice fish

Hi! I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for rare fish breeding. I want to try to breed fish that are rare but not that expensive. 5 gallons, 10 gallons, 20 gallons for breeding and any size grow-out tank. Could be anything, plecos, cories, rams, anything. I few I have in mind are rare black cories, platinum & silver and black ricefish, midnight rams. If that gives a good idea. Something that you cannot really find or most people didn't know existed.
