  1. Hi, at least in my opinion, I would say that fairly light feedings with a pretty clean food would probably be alright, especially with the low nitrate levels you've mentioned (just don't go overboard).

One thing with bettas and baby brine is that (at least for my betta) a pipette really helps as they like to only pay attention to the shrimp when they can get a bunch of shrimp in a single bite. (so just slowly squeeze in a dense pipette of brine shrimp right in front of him, and he'll probably get the hang of it)

  2. Hi, hope you're betta's hanging on! Honestly, (and I don't have any science to back this up, so take it with a grain of salt), but 8 days might be pushing it a bit when he's not doing well. If you have access to them you could try feeding brine shrimp, or daphnia lightly after giving him maybe a day or two more as I've heard their exoskeletons help move the digestive system along. Some pictures might help people on here as well!

Relating to question 2, ACO has a really nice guide for water clarity issues that in my opinion is pretty comprehensive: https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/cloudy-fish-tank?_pos=1&_psq=clou&_ss=e&_v=1.0

For question 3, if things get bad, you could try lowering the water level (less work to swim to the surface for air), as well as covering the tank to keep moisture in for his labyrinth organ if it's not already. That being said, drastically making changes could cause more harm than good from stress from the changes, so take that into account as well.

  4. Hi, regarding question 1, I've personally found that a glass cup or jar works really well for bettas. It leaves everyone (yes, me included) less stressed out compared to using a net ime. I'd want to second what the above post says, and also, that for the most part I've heard of fish being able to deal with a lack of acclimation, especially after shipping, so don't stress about it too much.

@Katherine, so I ended up sending your first wordle to my wordle savvy friend (despite what they might say about themselves), and they ended up getting it in 4/6 haha- (Here's the results:

  6. Hi, I'm not @Torrey, but I have kept a sparkling gourami before. They're really fun, and make an awesome croaking sound (similar to a frog), however they can be shy. Mine often hid below the heater quite often, although I'm not sure if that was only when I was around; I did't get to have her that long.

I'd also really make sure to have a lid for them. I put mine in a breeder box since there was a good chance it was harassing the shrimps, but it ended up jumping out, and getting lost under a piece of furniture.

Katherine, have you considered making any? You are in here almost every day. I think it would be cool as more people offer Wordle opportunities, if that's okay with @FlyingFishKeeper

Hi, just for reference: anyone can feel free to post anything wordle related/create their own (wordles aren't my game after all!)
