  1. No flashing. I will put him in a tub and dose with Maracyn. Shiuld I add any salt?
  2. All the other fish seem to be fine. I have 5 long fun danios, a Siamese algae eater, 5 barbatus cories, 4 emerald cories, and a panda Cory that was rescued after having it’s finally chewed off. I could do another water tests today and I’ll post some results. But previously the water has been 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and around 10 nitrates. All the other fish seem to be doing well. Nothing wrong with them at all.
  3. No he does not but recently he has grown “dry skin” I’m not sure how to describe it
  4. My female Kribensis has passed and my male Krib is acting a bit weird and I’m not sure if I’m just paranoid or if something’s wrong with him. He swims like this a lot and always shaking? I’m not sure how to describe it. I can also see some white scaled that have appeared also do not know what is wrong. Can someone help provide some peace of mind?
  5. Im not sure if this is ripped fins or any other signs of sickness but I've noticed there's this white almost like fluff hanging off the rays of her fins looks ripped
  6. I have epsom salt but would I need some aquarium salt? I have a small tote that I can fill with water as a qt tank for now. I’m not sure if it’s the male he hasn’t really been chasing her. Just up till a few days ago she was more aggressive towards him if he ever got too close
  7. The only major thing I’ve done to the tank is removed all the duckweed. I did this because I was having an issue with aphids and I kept the duckweed in the tank in a net while I was getting rid of any new aphids that were popping up there were so many I just threw it out into my pond
  8. Water parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and nitrates at 5 ppm temp is 77
  9. Hi so I bought a pair of Kribs off of aquabid around a few weeks ago. Yesterday the female? I’m not quiet sure. But she was resting on the bottom hiding behind the plants and when I approached the tank I noticed she was doing this wriggling movement. When the other Kribensis can by and attached her she was trying to fend off but kept doing this weird wriggling the looks like an alien was stuck inside. Her movement for the rest of that day was almost twitchy, a side to side motion. She wasn’t swimming around happily as she did the day before but instead she was lying on the bottom clamped fins and almost leaning in one direction? I don’t remember. But she was definitely lying on the bottom. I did a big water change later that day and today she is now huddled up on the heater clamped fins still and she’s trying to stay in the same position. If I go up to the heater to try to take a picture she swims away and comes back to her spot. Any help to what diseases? Illnesses? Or what I have done wrong? I indeed made a mistake of not quarantining with meds as I didn’t have enough money at the time to restock on meds. But as of now is there any meds that I should try? I’ve really liked this fish she was always so colorful and now the male has seemed to color up a bit of yellow now too. And I really hope I did not mess up and I hope that they’ll survive.
  10. Okok seems that that isn't the problem, I am almost certain that it is an impeller or motor issue as I've sound tested the filter with all parts in, different parts removed and I even had to dunk the whole filter into a bucket and run it or else air would run in and I wouldn't be able to hear. But for the most part as soon as I take the motor and filter out of the bucket it starts rattling. But the only time it doesnt rattle is when I let the motor run upside down in the bucket, I did this to let any potential sand fall down if there was any.
  11. That might be it, I don't see an o ring anywhere maybe it got lost while I was clearing it out? This is what the impeller looks like right now so I'm not sure if it's missing anything.
  12. Recently I had some extra sand and decided to add some in into my 2-3 year old 10 gallon tank, the one problem is I think some sand may have gotten into the filter even with it off and it started to make this rattling noise, i tried cleaning out the pre filter and then cleaning out the whole filter itself nothing. I took the filter apart learned some new things but nothing really helps. From what I've gathered the impeller makes almost no noise on its own. I tested this by taking it apart and dunking it in the water and doing a sound test. The only time it makes the irritating rattling noise is when it comes in contact with the filter housing. As soon as I screw the pump back on it starts to make the noise. I thought that it must have been hitting something on the body of the filter and I haven't seen anything. The noise is keeping me up at night and I'm just a kid taking apart his filter so I'm not really sure how any of it is supposed to work. All I know is it wasn't making that noise before, now it is. Here is a link to the filter noise in a separate testing container.
  13. Like Dave said you usually trim it replant it and the trimming will grow vertically. Which you can then trim again and replant.
  14. Currently I have 4 emerald cories, 1 panda cory that came with the emerald cory (I need to get more panda cories soon), 5 barbatus cories, a pair of Kribs, some zebra danio fry, and a small siamese algae eater
  15. @Daniel Hi yes it's still there, but all new growth is growing fine. The whole tank actually is sending out new growth. I have my crinum natans that has three shoots coming off of it. Not sure what to do with them or how to remove them to give them out to some friends
  16. will be posting water parameters of all that i can do later today
  17. @Lizzie Block It seems that it's only the pogostemon, it's dirted and i do dose ferts every once in a while, i figured it might just be ne growth as the curls have grown out and it curls at the tips of the plant. Although new leaves are still growing a bit curled
  18. Hi this pogostemon stellatus that I ordered from Aquarium Co Op has started new growth, but it looks all curled and wrinkled. The Rotala is starting to something similar. But overall the rest of the plants are growing fine, my crinum is sprouting out regular leaves, and crypt parva sent out new runners.
  19. Yes it's duckweed I keep my 10 gallon full of it to keep it virtually maintenance free and also it feeds the goldfish and the geese I have in the backyard
  20. I don't seem to mind tannins I have a piece of wood in my 10 gallon didn't really release tannins but the shrimp love to hang out on it.
