I would say you could place the plants in the buckets. but you could also put them in there current aquariums too.

Hey all,
I had an ich outbreak in one of my aquarium and so I am making sure I sterilize everything!! (just to make sure). I dipped the fish nets and aquarium siphon i used with a vinegar remedy with BOILING hot water.
would letting a fish net/ other equitment dry kill the ich parasites? Also should I buy a different net and siphon for my qt tank to prevent cross contamination?
Thanks guys, this really means alot!!

My angelfish looks like to have some sores near his gills / fins, after his ich treatment should I start treating him for secondary infections. If so what should I use? please note that I have a pleco in the hospital aquarium and so salt is not an option, and I cant use erythromycin because I live in Canada and I cant find that medicine.

Well crap! I got a fish from my lfs and didnt quarintine him. And now I have a huge outbreak of ich!!! I have been reading online and watching some youtube on it. I picked up some ich treatment from API (I live in canada so it was hard for me to find ich x at a afrodable price). and started dosing some meds. and just added an airstone. But the problem is I have a tetra preset heater, meaning that it heats up to 76 Degrees and I cant change it. Is it possible to treat ich safely with out the water being warm?
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in order for plants to live / thrive in an aquarium must you use plant fertilizer?

Hey all,
I just bought a bristlenose pleco (just a week ago)
And he hasn't been eating his algae wafers, I feed him at night. He doesn't seem to notice its "his"food. instead all my other fish eat the wafer. I have tried to place the wafer in his cave but, my fish still eat it. what do I do, so that my pleco starts eating his food?

Hey,
I have just recentley switched to pellets for my fish and my female swordtail will go for the pellet, and then spit it out and then go for it again? Will she start eating them normally? if not how do I fix this problem?

Hey all,
I have a 10 gallon that I have been breeding some rams. But my favorite fish is the angelfish. And I would love to breed them. My plan was to giveway my rams and re place them with an angel breeding pair. The internent said angels should breed in 20gallons. But some people have said that they sucsesfully breeded them in 10 gallons. My question is, does anyone have any experiance with breeding angelfish in a 10 gallon aquarium?

They would need to form a pair so their is a chance that you could buy a male and a female and they decide they do not want to breed. However, odds are pretty good if you buy two adults and they are the only GBR in the tank, they will probably breed!
Thanks so much aquatic journal

I am looking to breeding german blue rams. I was wondering if I could just buy a male and female and they would have babies, or would I should I buy them as a pair?

Hey all,
I am looking into getting an RO/DI water filter for my aquariums. I am wondering if i need to mount it on the wall, or at all? Or can I just use it sitting on the countertop?
Thanks!

You’ve gotten some good advice here. For the most part I agree with @Danieland @gcalberto . Apistos and Rams spend most of their time in the same part of the tank, the bottom. So since given the size of the tank and that you already have a pair of Rams in the tank if the Rams do spawn you more than likely will have some issues. Now I’ve kept cocatuodies and GBRs in the same tank without any issues but they were in a much larger tank. Finally I’ll give you one more Apisto to consider macmasteri. Good luck.
Thankyou everyone! I will only be keeping one ram. I defenetley like the females more.

You need to supply just a little more info. Besides the tank size what temp do plan on keeping them at, how many do you plan on keeping, will there be other fish in the tank, do you plan on breeding? Once you can answer those questions it will be easier to point you to a particular Apisto species.

30 gallon aquarium with tank mates of angels, rams, female swordtail, tetras.
Temp 77-80
Ph 7-8
Only one apistogramma. And no breeding

I want apistogramma. But I want them to be friendly yet colorful.
My question is, what is the best apistogramma considering the above?

I live in canada and so aquarium co op doesn't ship to me. So probably the murphy hat/ shirt. also their sponge filter.
