One of the emerald eye rasboras I got from Aquahuna was also missing a gill plate. I thought that fish would eventually die, especially after I had an outbreak in the tank I keep it in. It's been two months and the fish is fine, very active and has grown a little bit. I just made sure I kept the water super clean as a precaution.
I’ve been reading that they can live a long and normal life, but to keep water clean and keep a close eye. So… hopefully, little guy will be ok! Seems to me active and eating so, that’s a good sign!

If your seams look like this, then just measure the edge (the darker area between fingers) for the glass thickness

I’m not sure how they would recover? I don’t think they can regrow gill plate. But I’ll keep a close eye on him.

Is your tank glass or acrylic?

Did notice after observing all the fish that this little guy is missing his/her left gill plate. I’m hoping this won’t be an issue and that he’ll have a long and healthy life. Did contact seller to make them aware (not for a refund or anything, but maybe just look over fish carefully)

And they are in! They are little guys and can’t tell gender yet, but they look healthy and active. (No, I didn’t quarantine them… all the fish came from the same seller, so I realize I’m taking a risk… but I’m ok with it)

When I had my Dwarf Lily (which I aptly named Audrey 2.0) it devoured root tabs. Every month I was surrounding it with 4 or 5. They are ridiculously heavy feeders

Are you in Canada? Because I did see this…
also… you can use eggshells. Clean them out really well, remove the inner membrane and dry out in the oven and crush them very fine. That would be your cheapest option

Wow! They are beautiful! It was definitely a tough decision, but in the end I went with the fish that I’d been drooling over for months, lol. Maybe what I need is… ANOTHER 75g… so I can get Diamond Tetra and Praecox Rainbows 😂

It’s a busy tank so far, especially at dinner time. Everyone seems to get along and play well together. Congos should be here in Thursday (yay!!)
Ant melt has stopped. Oddly enough, I had the least amount of melt from the Crypts. The Buce was the worst. List one Buce completely, hoping maybe it will come back one day. Corkscrew Val and Regular Bal seem to be doing well. Java fern seems to finally be adjusting and has stopped making planlets. The Aponogeton Ulvaceus was very sad when it arrived. All the leaves melted but there’s a new leaf growing in, so there’s hope!
Mango the Longfin Blue Eyed Lemon BN Pleco seems to have settled in. The lone Mystery Snail is also doing well. Has no problem mowing over a Cory to get to the Repashy. No one seems to have issues with sharing the Repashy. Lemon Tetras get fed separately, but will hang at the bottom of the tank to catch scraps wafted up by the bottom feeders.
I'm so fascinated with this tank. It’s so entertaining to watch at different times of the day, but evening is when it seems the mist active- an hour or so before the lights go out.

We use the Terro ant baits. Never had an issue and they are phenomenal at getting rid of ants

Yep, I think you are right, now that I'm looking back through photos of my Ramshorn tank... Bladder snail eggs are yellow.

I agree with @EricksonAquatics - variety is the best. I've fed my Bettas a staple nano Pellet like Xtreme, they also get Bug bites. Once a week they get Frozen Bloodworms, Frozen Mysis Shrimp and Frozen Brine Shrimp.

I agree as well, those are snail eggs. Having kept both Bladder and Ramshorn, I'm inclined to say they are Bladder Snail eggs.

That pic was literally seconds after I added them to the tank. They’ve since claimed their real estate among the rocks and venture out at feeding time… and midday Zoomies (funny stuff, that)
I also added Mango, The Long Fin Blue Eyed Lemon BN Pleco to the tank today… he has sooo much room and looks fantastic in this tank. He’s such a beautiful little Pleco.

Well, I decided to go with Congo Tetra and Lemon Tetra! Lemons are already here and have been in the tank about a week. Congos should be here in about 5 days!

I’ve seen that others are culturing mosquito larvae to use as live food. There’s several tutorials on how to do this on YouTube. Seems like it would be easy… and free source of live food for you 😁

I love seeing the color on the cherry barbs and the ones that are bright sunburnt orange in contrast with the cherry tomato red ones that are also there. It's so fun to see the pops of deep color on the black background. The fish are loving that tank!The Cardinals are definitely vibrant! They are show stoppers for sure.
