  1. @nabokovfan87 @Colu@Chick-In-Of-TheSea Update - wow after almost 5 days of kanaplex and ichX (done properly) the fungus is already gone! I almost wonder if I got the right cory 🤣 His coloring has returned and is quite active again. The endlers are also fine. I’ll do another round to be safe and thank you all SO MUCH for your advice and experience. Will update again in the near future. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
  2. Thank @nabokovfan87 !! Super helpful bc all these meds and their schedules get confusing 😅🫣 thank you @Chick-In-Of-TheSea !! 🙏 I try to be careful with sharing equipment, so hard thooo 🫥 I disinfect with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and do a good rinse.
  3. Thank you @nabokovfan87 and @Colu🙏 IchX says to dose everyday and do 30% WC until symptoms are gone, but how would that work if i’m also using kanaplex? do I still do the water changes even tho kanaplex is an antibiotic? Or do I only dose IchX once? In the past I did WC for the ichX and did kanaplex every other day, but now im not sure if that makes sense for the kanaplex 🤔 thank you for any insight!
  4. I added kanaplex and ichX….that should work right? Ur right, i need to dose kanaplex for 2 more doses anyway, so I should add him.
  5. @Colu hello again - I’m sorry to bother you about this issue but in a slight conundrum. One of the corys has resurfaced the white fungus after being in QT. Unfortunately, my QT tank is being occupied with a few new endlers. 2 endlers have died, but the last 4 look quite healthy - I added some meds to their tank a couple days ago . I dont have space for another QT tank 🙈 - i already have 5 tanks running. I’m unsure where to put this sick cory - is it common to put sick fish into a QT tank with seemingly healthy fish? i guess that would be the least risky, but i guess it exposes the endlers to this disease - although theyve already been exposed to other things with the 2 dead endlers. Sorry if this was a ramble 🙈 Appreciate any of your expertise! 🙏
  6. Ah boo! Well thanks again 🙏 I learned a lot from this experience. Hopefully you won’t hear from me too soon 😅
  7. @Colu@nabokovfan87 UPDATE - Corys are doing well and the little juvenile looks clear!! 🎉 Thank you guys so much for your input, engagement, and feedback 🙏❤️ I am so happy they are looking so good! I’ll do water changes gradually to take out the salt and ich. @Colu Really appreciate your getting back to me so quickly. It made such a difference being able to tackle this so efficiently and learn how to take care of sick fish. If you live in the SF Bay Area I could give you some corys 🤣THANK YOU! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
  8. Hey @nabokovfan87! Thanks for checking in. I think the salt and ichX is working! The patch looks like it’s receding. Im doing 3G water change everyday and re-adding 1TB salt + ichX. I think i still have a couple days to do. In my main tank, parameters: GH: 71.6 kh: 3 temp: 76.6 ammonia: 0 i have stiphodon gobies, a panda garra, and the cory in there. I do a 50% water change every 7-10 days. All bottom dwellers :)) it’s hard to get a pic of the juvenile and i have no light on this QT tank right now. i’ll keep u posted with how things go in a couple days tho.
  9. @nabokovfan87they are actually in a QT tank right now. I think they were stressed because I had done a massive re-scape and had stirred up the substrate. The ammonia readings were 0 when i put them back in, but maybe something surfaces in the tank? They also spawned a couple days later. I think all of that change and spawning possibly triggered a disease, and because they spawned for a couple days touching each other - i had about 6 cory affected. Nothing else in the main tank got the weird patches, and i dosed with kanaplex to be safe. Main tank inhabitants are still going strong, just trying to get rid of the last “patch” on a juvenile cory. Im dojng a water change with more ICHX and salt per @Colu instructions now 🤞
  10. @Colu Ah ok! Thank you!! It’s definitely a math thing 👀 Appreciate the tip and I’ll try it out 🙏🙏🙏
  11. @Colu ok thank you! I’ll try that. Yes everyone js still in QT to be safe. I’ll look up more about adding salt so i know what i’m doing 😅 thank u!
  12. @Colu Thank you again for your help! The corys recovered for the most part. I did two rounds of jungle fizz + kanaplex, and am now treating with Ich X because there is ONR juvenile that seems to have this yellowish fuzzy patch. He seems very healthy otherwise except this residual patch. I almost wouldnt catch it except it is slightly raised. Any suggestions of what else I should do and how long should I keep the others in QT? Thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏
  13. Thanks so much @Colu I really appreciate how helpful and quick you are! I’ll try to find some QT space somewhere 😵‍💫
  14. THANK YOU @Colu Is it best to treat the whole tank at this point it should I QT the few who have it? Ehhhh..
  15. Hello community, Just wondering if I should be concerned about these dull patches on the cory’s skin? It almost looks like it is shedding its skin. I just rescaped my tank and they have been very excited spawningthe last couple days. They seem fine otherwise, but these patches showed up a couple days ago O_o I am using Kanaplex just in case. Behavior seems normally, lots of movement, but just this strange dull patchiness. These corys spawn every 2 weeks and I do a 50% WC every week bc of the stiphodon gobies. No ammonia. Can corys get sunburn from too much light? Any thoughts @Colu?
  16. Ah good to know @Colu Thanks for letting me know
  17. hi @Maximus - this was just the QT tank the cory was in. The main tank has sand yes 🙂 The other cory are doing fine. I had another one die unexpectedly but I was out of town and my friend was watching the tanks. It could be because these are new cory additions. I should have QT’d them longer.
  18. @Colu @Maximus ugh, the little guy just passed after I added the ichX. He was prob too weak. This past week i could not figure out what was wrong with him aside from his fast breathing and lethargy. There wasn’t anything visible i could see. It was underneath him. That spore fungus must have been growing beneath him this whole time, i couldnt see it 🫥🫥🫥 ehhhh… thank you so much for your help. I appreciate the fast replies. I guess something else new to watch out for 😭 @Colu ah i see. Thank you for the explanation. I guess we’ll see how he does these next couple days…i’ll add the ichX. Thank you!
  19. @Colu ah i see. Thank you for the explanation. I guess we’ll see how he does these next couple days…i’ll add the ichX. Thank you!
  20. Water parameters are fine in QT. I did a big water change - actually redid the whole QT tank and found an organic thing that was prob the culprit sprouting with the hairs! Fresh new tank water + new water for QT . I’ll add the ichX later today when he readjusts after his little salt bath @Colu and @Maximus Is that fungus thing salvageable? I didjt think that food mold could grow on a fish. He is still eating, but it doesnt allow him to lie flat.
  21. Thank you @Colu !! I have IchX. Do i need to do anything else to the littlr cory? Thats weird its attached to him!! :((
  22. Hello Forum, I found a strange spore like growth on the underside of my cory. He is currently already in a QT tank, last days of paracleanse + kanaplex (round1), being treated for rapid breathing, low energy, and looking thin. He is eating repashy and I medicated some brine shrimp with kanaplex + metrocleanse. But what is this furry white spore underneath?? I was wondering why he looked a bit unbalanced and now it’s more obvious. He swims fine but tilts sideways. It looks attached although I don’t see any redness. @Colu do you have any ideas what this spore is? Kind of alarming?? i also see this white hairy floaty things in my QT tank…what is this?? i had bleached the tank and contents prior to using. any insight would be helpful thank you!
  23. Hey @Colu - i checked on the little guy and he was passing so I put him down with some clove oil 😭 I dunno if medication or stress was too much, but he was probably on his way. His mouth was pretty much covered by the bacteria. I feel bad. thank you for your help. I’ll be more watchful of the other guys. Nothing on anyone else in the tank so 🤞🤞🤞Thanks for ur speedy replies, it really helped and I really appreciate it 🙏
  24. Thank you @Colu!! I took a picture of that a while back and i look at it for reference. Appreciate the recipe, thank u!! Yeah, it looks like it turned for the worse :(( I added the jungle fizz but I had to dilute the water a bit bc it seemed like he struggling with the addition of the jungle fizz. I swapped out 1/4 of a gallon with new water and he seems more calm. I’ll add new kanaplex and jungle fizz tomorrow.
  25. @Colu - i think the poor thing has mouth rot :(( i just added some jungle fizz in addition to the salt and kanaplex. not sure how thinfs will go but i can see some redness now and a covering over its mouth. It looks worse than yesterday unfortunately:(( glad i moved the other cory. Here is today:
