@Colu - i think the poor thing has mouth rot :(( i just added some jungle fizz in addition to the salt and kanaplex. not sure how thinfs will go but i can see some redness now and a covering over its mouth. It looks worse than yesterday unfortunately:(( glad i moved the other cory. Here is today:

@Colu ok thank you. I think i’ll see how things go these next few days with no mouth cory while I treat him. I’ll keep the other corys in a separate tub for now with an airstone. Thank you!

@Colu - I should explain further. The other QT fish are the same species of cory to complete the school. If this is a one off bacteria infection, i’m thinking can treat all the cory at the same time in QT as “precautionary” and be able to keep them in the same tank. But, if you think this infection is contagious, then I will keep them separated.

Ah thank you!! @Colu 😭🙏 This might be dumb question…is it safe to keep him with other QT fish? I only have one QT tank and its being occupied, but I could make a new one with a plastic tub if necessary.

Hi @Colu - Is this mouthrot? Some of my corys were having barbel erosion so I moved them into a less stressful tank. The other two have since recovered but this one looks worse :(( I haven’t noticed until now bc they would only come out in pitch dark, and kept hiding. Was finally able to catch him. i feel so terribly :((( It’s like his mouth is falling off. i put him in QT with kanaplex and some salt. Ugh :(( Thank you for any insight. Everyone else is healthy and no other outbreaks. Is this salvagable? Or should I put him down? :((( He has been eating, but now im noticing his rapid breathing.

Hi @Colu Just to give an update - I think the Kanaplex has helped to shrink the white growth on the cory fin. It’s still a bit there, prob reduced by half, but much better! should I continue another round of Kanaplex? Do a salt dip? Or stop and observe for now? Thank you for any insight! 🙏

Ok thank u!! Thank u @Colu🙏🙏🙏 I’m doing some kanaplex just in case. I got paranoid bc i saw another cory with similar “white” speck, so doing kanaplex as precaution. All my extra “tanks” are used up right now so im going go observe and see for now :(( But have salt on hand for that next step in case the kanaplex does nothing. The cory is completely fine otherwise, doing usual cory things and eating well. 🤞🤞🤞 That white growth just looks isolated to that one area on the fin. Thank you for your advice!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Community! Just wondering what this white growth could be? It’s not fluffy or spreading into other spots like ich, its just on ONE spot on the fin and feels “weighty”. It flops around with the tail. Is this cauliflower virus? Is it treatable? Any insight is appreciated! thank you!! Jaspyjasp

@Cinnebuns These are Venezuelan Cory, or red sailfin cory. I’m sure hatchling growth is the same probably. But this guy is over a week old!! The swelling seems to be going down, but it was just so weird! It’s starting to look more normal. I uploaded the video for you on YT.

Thank you @Cinnebunsand @Andy's Fish Den! I’ll try to put up a YT later bc it is interesting, but i think he had some swelling going on that is possibly subsiding ? I took a comparison photo today and he looks half the size now! I wonder what the swelling was/is... Pics below.

Hello Community, I’m raising some cory fry and noticed this little guy has a type of deformity? His belly is very swollen and he tips over a lot. Also seems to have a hunch back and underdeveloped fins, maybe a squished face? He is eating and swimming okay. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen anything like this before? Pics attached. I wish i could attach a video but it won’t let me 😕 Thank you for any insight!

@Colu update - panda garra is looking sooo much better! Thank you so much for your advice and support ❤️The indian almond leaves have prob helped a lot. Ps. Oh actually it says with the large leaves that 1 is good for 10 gallons. Maybe i’ll do 3 for good measure. thanks again!!

@Colu One more question if I may? What if it’s not columnaris and that white patch is still there in a few days? It really is hard to tell what that is but at least its not raised or fuzzy so far 🤞 i’ll monitor and continue feeding him kanaplex frozen since I still have some for the next few days. Probably doesnt hurt. thank you for your insight and reply!!

@Colu oh!!! My LFS said it’s better for them to eat it, but I appreciate your insight and will take note. I’ll observe for now and see how he is these next couple days. I did a big water change today too. I have your recommended meds on hand and the recipes. I‘m ready to dose of i see anything worse. He seems fine despite that mark, but who knows. At least its not fuzzy or red, hopefully it’s healing. Thank you so much and I’ll keep you posted! 🙏🙏🙏

Hey @Colu Thought I should move my question back to my original thread. Ultimately the rasbora died, sadly. But now I am seeing this patch on my panda garra - and I have been feeding him (and the tank) Kanaplex for the last 3-4 days. Does this look like anything dangerous? I thought it might be a scratch, but decided to medicate just in case since the rasbora had lived in this tank. I also dosed paracleanse (seems silly now but i panicked). I got some Jungle Fungus clear fizz tabs. Should I add it to the tank as precautionary? Do i wait till paracleanse is done (its just one more day), or should I dose? I will continue feeding kanaplex. here is a pic of the garra. He’s my favorite so i’m more worried. The top picture is the most recent. He is robust and eating otherwise. THANK YOU for any insight you can give.

Thank you @Colu! I’m going to do a water change soon for the poor little guy. Does that mean for a 10gallon you would add 5Tablespoons of salt? Just want to be sure. Wish this guy would eat…its been days! When animals don’t eat it’s such a bad sign 😭 thank you! steph

Hi community, My porkchop rasbora had some white fuzz and lesions. He’s been in QT for 1.5 weeks. Dosed maracyn and then Sulfaplex (bc I ran out of maracyn). He seemed to get over a hump, but he hasnt been eating and still breathing very fast - and hard to tell if it’s coming back? Also looks like there’s healed areas and then maybe new patches?Swimming okay tho. Advice on whether you think he will make it, or is he suffering a slow death and should I put him down? Update - I got a little panda garra and Little Nessie is the BEST 😻 So much personality and such a hard worker! Getting along great with everyone in the tank and is colored up happily 🙂 also great with my dwarf shrimp. Pretty much cleaning my glass squeaky clean and decimating my green hair algae. Thank you @SpacedCadette@anewbie @ACW and everyone for your help! 🙏 pics below 🙂
