Tempting to get one, but I know the statistics about the Dwarf Gourami Disease...

I think it may be all gouramis that can shoot water

I'd want glofish versions of all my favorite nano fish... Boraras species rasboras,  peapuffers, pygmy corydoras, pygmy sunfish, kuhli loaches, and clown killifish. I have a glofish betta and they are really beautiful in heavily planted tanks.

I’d like glo fish if it was markings (like the blue on neon tetras glowed) I’m just not a fan of the company they just seem shady

My favorites so far are the zoanthids, but I'm looking into both of those you mentioned as well. I think a watchman goby/pistol shrimp pair would be pretty awesome: the goby stands guard while the shrimp digs a burrow for them to share. I'm trying to avoid adding anything else until I get everything moved over to the new tank I'm building and get it settled in.

I love watchman gobies and pistol shrimp they are so cute together! Also we need images!!!

Huge aquarium with Arowana, snakeheads, pacu, and I'll throw in a couple of guppies & corys and see how long they last!

Maybe a red-tail shark too, preferably albino

Why arawana when you could go arapaima!😂

Dream tank would have kuhli loaches, red tailed sharks, koi Bettas & blue crawdads.

    Noodle madness!

Honestly, I just really want to own a gold honey gourami (the pale yellow variety, a female preferably). I can only find the wild and red varieties anywhere online to buy, outside of Aqua Huna which only sells them in 6 packs. I just want one for my 20 gallon long. 😩

Simple! And achievable best of luck on your search!

  4. say you had unlimited money and no banning of any animals (you could keep snake heads in America for example) what would your dream tank look like, you can have any species of animal, plant, coral ect just go wild!

alternatively what is your dream fish/ invert

  5. another cool one would be bioluminescent freshwater fish, like a small tetra that had some small part light up like a fire fly

Clown loach + pygmy cory. A clown loach that never gets over 1 1/2” in length. Then I could have a huge school of them!😬

Any 2 fish or inverts. Related or not. If it was possible, what would you make a hybrid out of and which traits of each would you want. Ethics don't matter. Ik some could be unethical to ACTUALLY produce.

I'm thinking something like a rainbow mixed with a lionfish and have just a million unneeded fins for absolute no reason.

omg i love it! then through in some dragonet from saltwater portrait-of-mandarin-fish-synchiropus-splendidus--banda-neira-island--indonesia-892114852-5ac6bd95875db900373d0afd.thumb.jpg.243b2f1c12eab3639b9a46629eaea7df.jpg

I would LOVE a nano archerfish, perhaps hybridised with a koi medaka ricefish for color and cold tolerance.

it exist its called a gurami!!!

     this one is adorable!

    also this tank is questionable

it may not be much but beggars cant be choosers!

That's awesome to know. I do know there were a few. I think bamboo sharks are ridiculously awesome and a good size and fit for a tank. 🙂

Definitely will check it out. There's a ton of shark species and I had heard about some freshwater ones, but completely slipped the name.

Update. Max size is pretty big (80 inches) and they are severely endangered.

I do you one better! freshwater chimera! (they have already been kept in saltwater https://www.zenger.news/2020/10/20/fish-feat-deep-sea-chimaera-survive-first-year-in-captivity/)

yay they are unreasonable but i prefer epilate

  8. So I was thinking about hydrometers and would it be possible to cut the face with all the numbers and floaty army thingy (very scientific!) and put that in the aquarium similar to having a thermometer in the aquarium? Idk could be interesting if any one wants to do it be sure to post it!

I would suggest 3 Indian mudskippers based on your current setup. If you were to add some line-of-sight breaks, you could have 4 or so.

sorry I re measured it and it was 12x12 ( i originally used measurement on my iphone to tell the water section and then -that from 29 gallon dimensions) ill see about line of sight breaks. any suggestions? (preferably something that would look nice, fit the aesthetic, be cheap/ easy to get)

I have not, but keeping mandarins isn't really a goal for me at this point. My current plan is just to be ready for a clownfish and some beginner corals by some time next summer. I only started saltwater in July so I've got a ways to go. (Try me again in 5 or 10 years!)

i really want a mantis shrimp, you could try pulsing Zeina or green star polyps (though you may regret it in the future) from what ive heard its like duckweed but doesnt get all over your arm when you stick your hand in the tank

Meet Vader my Bristlenose pleco. Had him for 4 years now when he was maybe only half an inch long. But he grew alot bigger and faster than my albino pleco. Id say that Vader is about 7-8 inches now and the albino is about 5 inches and ive had him longer.

Sharing 2nd hand knowledge here, but I think I recall seeing a video on youtube by LRBretz where he had them breeding in an unfiltered tank in his fish room. So like, zero flow.

I saw a video of some one hsl breeding in a quarantine tank😂

Thanks! That was my first breeding group, in a 20 long which ended up pretty cramped. I lost most of them when it crashed. I'm on my second group now and things seem to be going a bit better in my 40 breeder, though I've spread out the fry to a few other tanks for a bit of insurance.

Those are amazing! I've seen them come up a lot in my nano reef research but it sounds like they're picky about food. My baby reef tank definitely doesn't have the pods yet to sustain one of those beauties.

Have you tried a attached copepod hotel in tank/ refugium

You can use a bucket with an airstone or a tupperware container if you have one available for use.  Getting the fish as close to the water surface without agitating them with too much flow is going to help a little bit to relieve pressure.

If you're talking a full on rupture, the fish probably jumped and then did some severe damage on the hardscape or lid of the tank causing the issue.  It does happen and I don't know if that is something that can be repaired over time.  If the fish is continuing to suffer I would suggest to put it out of it's misery.

I don’t think I can even do the bucket (I have 3 spare tanks) i think the fish is pretty far gone (it barely moves and has a large wound) how would I painlessly euthanize it

Possible injury looks like he might have dropsy with the pineconing what I would do if you can is quarantine and treat with kanaplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days if not eating dose the tank that will treat any possible internal bacterial infection follow up with a course of metroplex that treats aeromonas a common cause of dropsy and do Epsom salt baths 1 table for 2 gallons  for a couple of days that will help reduce the fluid buildup and acts as a muscle relaxant to relieve pressure on the swim bladder @Aiden Carter

    IMG_20220714_201326.jpg

im fairly certain it is non viral/ bacterial as I havent done anything differently for months (it was showing no symptoms yesterday/ did not have the wound), personally I think it got hurt, swim bladder ruptured, fluid filled insides; creating pine coning, also due to my parents being strict on spending I cant buy much and am not allowed to set up a quarantine/ hospital tank : (
