amylynd
I have a 90 gallon planted aquarium. I currently have low light plants but would like to add medium light plants. I am running a Fluval 3.0 LED light. I need to add a second light, is it overkill to add another Fluval 3.0 for medium light plants?
Administrators Cory Posted February 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 1, 2021 You should be fine with just the 1.

For some reason with just the one light I can’t get any stem plants to grow. I even tried wisteria with no luck.

Administrators Cory Posted February 2, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 2, 2021 The glass does reduce some lighting. I'd wager it has nothing to do with struggling plants. A fluval light is crazy strong. What is your fertilizer, and schedule for the stem plants?

I was using chemipure green in my filter but realized it had carbon. I replaced that with Purigen. Lights ramp up from 14:30-15:30 and ramp down from 20:00-21:30.
