Scherry
Do I turn off my Undergravel filter when using Paracleanse?
FrozenFins
when treating fish I just remove the filter media and add an air stone. I have never used an under gravel filter, so I dont know how easy it is to remove the media, If you can remove the media do that and an air stone. If you can't turn it off and add a airstone
Scherry
Thank you I can turn the power heads off for the Undergravel filter, and I have two air stones going. The tank has guppies and corydoras.
Daniel
Only chemical filtration needs to be turned off. Since your filter media is the gravel in your aquarium and it is only performing biological filtration you should leave your undergravel filter running just like it is. I would not recommend turning the powerheads off as that will not be good for the beneficial bacteria in your gravel.
Scherry
Ok, I shall leave the power heads on then. Thank you.
