svachon9
They in a planted 90 gallon tank. I also have a few Nerit snails also. I'd like to replace these Ramshorns with a larger type (maybe Mystery snails). If I put the larger snails in and start to manually taking out the Ramshorn, is it possible they can eventually displace the Ramshorn?
Justnotrook
It’s ramshorns.
MWilk
Mystery snails and ramshorn snails occupy very different roles. Mystery snails must be fed. Ramshorn snails will subsist on algae and leftover food scraps, dead leaves, etc. Unless you overfeed your tank, it won’t grow an excessively large population of ramshorn snails. I say this as I am actively cleaning my overfed tank from its population of bladder snails. Bladder snails reproduce much faster than ramshorns.
