Mississippi fish guy
I was wondering why is there a 29 and a 30 gallon? Is one better than the other in certain circumstances?

Pepere
A 29 gallon has the same footprint of a 20 gallon long. They are both 30 inches wide, 12 inches deep front to back. The 29 gallon is just taller at 18 inches tall. A standard 30 gallon is 36 inches wide by 12 inches front to back by 16 inches tall. all things being equal, if I had room for the width, my preference would be for a 30 personally. I have 29 gallons because I am width limited where I have the two tanks and the extra half foot of space just isnt there for me… From a plant growing aquascaping perspective, the 12 inches of depth front to back is a serious limitation in my mind. I look forward to a 75 gallon at some point in the future in another room, for the increased front to rear depth of 18 inches….
